The Story

The birth of E’MAR stemmed from a lack of footwear solutions within the designer market for women. As a foot and ankle surgeon, she treated thousands of women for foot pain and related injuries. And as a shoe-lover herself,  stating “just don’t wear heels'' was not realistic or helpful advice. Everyone knows that the right pair of stylish heels can make you feel confident, powerful, and ready to take on the world. 

In her work life and among her friends, she saw so many women suffering from the pain of uncomfortable heels — and a total lack of effective solutions on the market. She was drawn to this area after her own struggle with post-pregnancy sciatic and plantar fasciitis. 

Once transitioning her focus to optimizing the distribution of pressures in footwear, it occurred to her that there was a fundamental lack of knowledge behind the development of footwear. She realized that only through medical innovation and expertise can there be a change in perception of “style” and “comfort”. These two things did not have to be divergent but could intersect via science and art. This led to the R&D of the E’MAR medical inlay. Dr. Javed is passionate about bringing a change to the luxury footwear industry and making it more inclusive for anyone who wants to wear luxurious footwear without sacrificing style.
